Appointment-Based Library Visits

The Fort Smith Public Library is excited to welcome library customers back to the library buildings.  The library will re-open in phases, following the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, Gov. Asa Hutchinson, and the Arkansas Department of Health.  The focus during Phase 1 of reopening is on short visits to the Main Library by appointment only.  Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Each appointment is for a maximum of 30 minutes.

During phase 1, masks are required for library visitors as specified by the Arkansas Department of Health’s directive on indoor venues.  Library staff will also be wearing masks as we assist the public.  Social distancing will be followed, and a limited number of people will be permitted in the building at one time.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Dewey’s Café, meeting rooms, and study rooms will not be available during Phase 1.  The branch libraries will also remain closed.
