Library Services During COVID-19
The Main Library is open for brief visits by appointment Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Appointments are required and each appointment is for a maximum of 30 minutes. Other Library Services
Need to scan photos, identification cards, or other documents? The Main Library offers access to a computer with a digital scanner attached. In addition, library photocopiers at all locations will scan documents and photos. Scanner access is free and no library card is required. Bring a USB flash drive to save your scanned images. The library has flash drives for sale for $5.
Public faxing is available at all four library locations. The fee to send and receive a fax is $2 for the first page and $1 for each additional page. There is no charge for a cover page. Faxes may only be sent to U.S. phone numbers. International faxing is not available.

Access the Internet for free with a Fort Smith Public Library card, current UAFS ID, or military ID. For individuals without a library card in good standing, Internet access may be purchased for $3. Internet sessions last an hour. Additional time is available if no one is waiting.
Computers for children and teens – The library offers free Internet and games computers and touchscreen early literacy computers for children ages 12 and under. Internet computers for teens ages 13-17 or still attending high school are also available. A library card is not required. Teens may be asked to provide a driver’s license or school ID to verify their age.
Express Internet computers – When only a few minutes of Internet access is needed, the library offers 15-minute express Internet computers. No library card or ID is required.
All Internet users must agree to abide by the Fort Smith Public Library’s Computer and Internet Usage Policy.
Wi-Fi – Free high-speed wireless Internet is available free at all library locations. No library card or password is required. All Wi-Fi users must agree to abide by the library’s Wi-Fi policy.
Word Processing computers – Dedicated computers loaded with word processing software such as Microsoft Word are available for use in creating resumes and writing letters or reports. Word processing computers are free. No library card is required.
Have a document on your mobile device or laptop that you need to print? The Reference Department at the Main Library offers wireless printing. Click here and follow the instructions to send your print job wirelessly.
Black and white prints are $.25 and colors prints are $1. Contact the Reference Department at the Main Library for additional assistance.
Notary public service is available at all library locations, depending on staff availability. Please call ahead to assure the availability of a notary. The notary fee is $2 per stamp and must be paid in cash. The document must be signed in the presence of the notary and current photo identification of the signer must be presented. Library notaries are unable to perform online notarizations or notarize oaths. Library notaries have the discretion to decline notary requests.
Printers and photocopiers – Black and white photocopiers and black and white and color printers are available at all library locations. Black and white copies and prints are $.25/page. Color prints are $1/page.
Test proctoring services are available at all library locations, depending on staff availability. The fee for proctoring is $20 per hour with a $20 minimum. Additional fees will apply if photocopying, mailing, or faxing is required. Use the online form to request a test proctor.
Sebastian County voter registration forms are available at all library locations. The library will pay the postage costs for mailing voter registration forms turned in at the library. Remember that voter registration generally closes about 30 days prior to each election. Consult with the county clerk’s office for specific deadlines and allow time for mailing.
