Program Description

The original artwork of Jim Horne will be on display in the community room of the main library from July 3 – August 15. Jim was drawing his first portraits of his Grandpa at 7 years old, now at 73, he is still creating portraits.  In his lifetime, he has painted most everything that got in his way, but specializing in portraits.  “If one can paint a good portrait, one can paint most anything … almost.” Jim loves art and color.  He lives, breathes, sleeps, and eats art.  Art is everything and everywhere.  If one does something with one’s heart and soul, it is art …. we are all artists.  Jim moved away from Fort Smith in 1986 and returned in 2015.  He lived in Europe for 14 years studying art and working in advertising.  He also lived in St. Louis for 28 years working in advertising and promoting his dances as a D.J.  Be sure to stop by and see this colorful and engaging exhibit.  Artwork is available for viewing all library hours when meetings are not being held in the Community Room.
