Program Description

The photography of Mike Holloway will be featured in the community room at the Main Library from May 13 – June 30. Entitled "Faces of Calichi" the photographer will display images taken on St. John Island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Some local locations will also be featured.  What is Caliche? It is a sedimentary rock or hardened natural cement of calcium carbonate that binds together other materials but, in this case, Calichi is a group of villas located on St. John Island. The common thread and connection of the photographs is the binding characteristics of the photographer’s love and impressions of color.  Artwork is available for viewing all library hours when meetings are not being held in the Community Room.
