Program Description

Legendary writers and storytellers will visit the Main Library for a free special Saturday after-hours evening program to launch the release of Rough Country and Hard Country — a powerhouse anthology project uniting some of the most acclaimed voices in Western and crime fiction for one extraordinary cause. Edited by New York Times bestselling author Reavis Z. Wortham, these landmark volumes ride the line between grit, justice, and survival across the American West — from dusty frontier trails to the unforgiving modern badlands.

The official launch of the collection will take place at U.S. Marshals Museum during the day, with an evening reception to follow at the Fort Smith Public Library from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.  Book lovers are invited to visit with contributing authors Baron Birtcher, Marc Cameron, Jeffery Deaver, Chris Enss, Mike Farmer, John Gilstrap, Jefferson Glass, Rik Goodell, Heather Graham, Harry Hunsicker, Craig Johnson, DP Lyle, Phil Mills, Taylor Moore, M. William Phelps, JB Stevens, Anthony Wood, Reavis Wortham, and more.

All proceeds from Rough Country and Hard Country will benefit the U.S. Marshals Survivors Benefit Fund, supporting the families of U.S. Marshals who have fallen in the line of duty.
