Program Description

Fort Smith author and globally know photojournalist Kaia Larsen will appear at the Main Library to promote and sign copies of her book, Superhero Sister.  In the book, Kaia shares how she learned to manifest and teaches readers how to do the same. She describes her book as “Laugher is alchemy, turning despair into light. I dance between nonsense and common sense, where the two become perfect sense.”

Kaia grew up in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri, where she majored in art and equestrian studies. Her family raised exotic straight Egyptian Arabian horses for 40 years in Fort Smith, where she trained, bred, showed and raised these beautiful horses. After the horses Kaia began a career as a photojournalist for the Press Argus, in Van Buren for 10 years, followed by Times Record in Fort Smith for 14 years. Her work has been and is still featured in the London Daily Mail, USA Today, MSNBC, Time.com, Sports Illustrated, Comedy Central, Jay Leno Tonight Show, and various newspapers around the globe via the Associated Press. Kaia has won numerous Better Newspaper News-Editorial Contest, Arkansas Press Association, and picture of the month awards. Copies of Superhero Sister will be available for sale and signing at the event; cash is preferred.
