

The Fort Smith Public Library’s new main library building was chosen to be on the cover of Library Journal’s architectural issue which was published in December 2001. Each year Library Journal has one issue which focuses on library buildings built during the year. Between July 1, 2000 and June 30, 2001 there were 80 new library buildings built and 132 additions/renovations totaling over 4 million square feet and costing more than $686 million.
