Adult Readers: Why should the kids have all the fun? Sign up for the annual Adult Summer Reading Festival with this year's theme: Master the Art of Reading. Every book read or listened to is a chance to win a prize in the weekly drawing. Just come into the library and fill out a reading log sheet or print one off at home and bring it in. (If you have trouble displaying or printing the rules or the entry form, you MAY need to download Adobe Acrobat first.)
New this year will be the Adult Summer Reading Festival blog! at FSPLreadFest.wordpress.com. Share books, movies, discussions, author talks and other special events that interest you and fit your schedule. Check it out when you have a chance. See what others are reading and watching and talking about...and e-mail your book reviews for the blog to summerreadingdiva@yahoo.com.
Teens: Take part in the Express Yourself @ Your Library reading program. For every book you read, you will be eligible for weekly prize drawings for gift cards to area stores and restaurants. There will also be a grand prize drawing at the end of the summer reading program. Don't miss out! Read for the fun of it this summer with the Fort Smith Public Library!
Kids: Be Creative @ Your Library is this year's program for kids. The program is designed to encourage reading for pleasure and will help young people who are able to read independently retain valuable reading skills developed over the past school year. Preschool children who are too young to read may also participate and will receive credit for the books read to them. Small rewards will be given to each child for reaching specific goals.
In addition to the Summer Reading Programs, don't miss our Wonderful Wednesday programs on Wednesdays @ 2:00p.m. in June and July as well as our Books Into Movies series on Tuesdays and Thursdays @ 2:30p.m. in June, July, and August.
